As I look through my oeuvre, I find this theme over and over again. Women, reaching for the light above, around, inside, underneath and over themselves, seeking a higher source, usually just outside the frame. It is something that penetrates all of the work I do – not just as a photographer, but as a movement teacher, writer and a spiritual guide. I am seeking bigger answers, wider truths, deeper meaning and am always listening for the messages that lie in the whispers and wonders that are just outside of human perception.
I find that while you cannot see what the subjects are seeking, the richness of the colors inside the frame, and the deep saturation that you can only get from 35mm film photography pulls you in, not just to the slice of time represented in these photographs, but to the universe you contain within and without yourself.
